As the country slowly limps back to normalcy with the effective control of the novel Coronavirus pandemic, we have been looking forward to establishing our regular routines.
Leisure activities have been hit the hardest during the lockdowns, affecting thousands of jobs. The good news is that several movie theatres are again up and running.
Cinema halls have been granted permission to screen movies to the general public under strict guidelines to ensure the safety of the employees and patrons. Cinema safety has to be the number one priority not just for the cinema theatres but also anyone looking forward to watching upcoming movies on the big screen.
Accordingly, cinema theatres have been working hard to make their space safe for everyone.
Only alternate seating is allowed to ensure social distancing.
Patrons can only buy pre-packaged food at the concession stands, and seat service is no longer available.
There are daily health checks for the staff, along with thermal scanning for the guests.
Along with regular sanitization of the premises, the security check will also be contactless.
Patrons are asked to maintain social distancing at the lobbies and have limited occupancies in the restrooms.
They must also always have their face masks on at all times and must use the sanitizers provided by the cinema theatres reopened regularly.
Currently, most large cinema chains and multiplexes are operating under these guidelines. These movie theatres include PVR, Carnival Cinema, Big Cinema, Fun Cinema, Cinepolis, Gold Cinemas, Inox, Miraj Cinema, Asian Cinema, Wave Cinemas, and Movie Time.
Large cinema halls that are still not open are Justickets, S-Pictures, and SPI Cinemas. With the holiday season just around the corner, it is expected that these venues will soon be open to the general public as well.
To make sure that the move to open movie theatres remains successful, it is crucial that guests follow all the safety guidelines of the Government and the respective venues.
