Written and directed by Sukumar , ‘ Pushpa: The Rise ’ is the first of a two-part series that traces the rise of Pushpa Raj ( Allu Arjun ), who begins his career as a coolie in the red sanders smuggling business in the Seshachalam forest of Andhra Pradesh and goes on to become a don. The movie is set around a red sanders smuggling operation in the Seshachalam hills of the Rayalaseema region.
