Written and directed by Sukumar, ‘Pushpa: The Rise’ is the first of a two-part series that traces the rise of Pushpa Raj (Allu Arjun), who begins his career as a coolie in the red sanders smuggling business in the Seshachalam forest of Andhra Pradesh and goes on to become a don. The film will be out in cinemas on Friday, December 17.

Allu Arjun plays the role of Pushparaj, a coolie who comes from scratch to become a don. The movie is set around a red sanders smuggling operation in the Seshachalam hills of the Rayalaseema region. Rashmika Mandanna plays his love interest Srivalli and Fahadh Faasil IPS officer Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat.
