What Really Works For The Cars Franchise

The first Cars movie came out in the year 2006. And, the characters of the movie instantly became classics. They were right up there with the likes of Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Mike and Sully. What really worked for Cars was the In particular was the audience, and since the audience was intended to be young and well that worked. People loved the anthropomorphic vehicles that were endearing, engaging, and most of all, quite visually appealing. It is not surprising that the movie Cars broke the record for merchandise sales. And, if you are interested in the numbers then it raked in about over $10 billion and that too in the first five years after the film was released.

As a matter of fact, young kids found Lightning McQueen as an accessible hero, and Mater like a best friend. And, kids who have grown up pushing Hot Wheels cars about on miniature tracks , found the cars featured in Pixar’s movie to be very similar. The only difference being that they they could talk, which made the whole deal all the more sweeter. Also, the movie kept on raking money even after it wasn’t running in theatres. The movie was watched in many households and that too over and over again. In a manner of speaking it came as blessed relief for the intended audiences when Cars 2 came out in 2011 and now they there was something new to watch on repeat.

The plots of the Cars movies are not what you would call a multi-layered story, but both the Cars’ movie tell a tale that has a message and a simple story, which makes the whole thing that much easier to understand. The animation also added to the whole thing as the the cars looked like toys, that behaved like real-life performance cars. All of this only makes the case for Cars 3 to be an even bigger extravaganza and it possibly will. The trailer points to a movie that seems to have a story that is akin to Rocky 4 and this is enough reason to have me on the bandwagon.
